The Spiral Adapter is designed for measuring the viscosity of heavy paste-like materials and non-flowing products. It provides variable shear rates to detect pseudoplastic and thixotropic behavior when used with standard Brookfield Viscometers and Rheometers. Featuring an inner, threaded spindle and a concentric outer cylinder, the Spiral Adapter continually pumps the sample through, ensuring a steady-state flow for accurate viscosity measurements. This method is less sensitive to sample handling and minor variations, delivering reliable data across different shear rates. The Brookfield Viscometer/Rheometer, when used with the Spiral Adapter, generates a rheogram from an up/down speed ramp, offering valuable insights into the pseudoplastic and thixotropic characteristics of the material.
